A Tale of Testosterone - Comparing Men Then vs. Now

Had a great time with Alana on Red Pill Rescue tonight where we traveled back in time and compared men from the 80's, 90's and today.

For an older person like myself, it's hard not to notice just how different people look today than they did in 1984. I was only a little girl then but still, I remember it all very clearly.

The bachelors who lived next door to my family for about 5 years all looked like Tom Selleck. It's become increasingly rare to see any man today who resembles him or his physicality and stature.

It goes without saying the culture of the 80's is vastly different than any other time period. And we did start to notice the effeminacy of men begin to "magically" present itself in glam hair bands. I never cared for the way they dressed or their makeup, but I did like a few of their songs. Not all of them, but a few.

Then we took a closer look at a couple of guys who looked very manly in the face. As cheesy as Huey Lewis and the News was (that was kind of their shtick to poke fun at male and female relations and the party scene in the 80's), they still looked very much like men.

Like many of us, I honestly have trouble between being able to tell if certain folks are male or female just by virtue of something in our environment that's altering people's genes in a ghastly and unsightly way.

Doughy, soft beardo guys back then we're nonexistent. Today, they're everywhere.

I can only theorize why things have gone downhill as far as our collective genes and why people are built so differently today. Everybody seems to see it and recognize it, but they can't make any sense of it either.

And maybe they don't want to make any sense of it because, well, c'mon. It feels like you're circling the drain in even trying to peer into what caused this problem and figure out what went radically wrong.

But perhaps we should. Bionic people are said to be the future. And so far it's not looking good lol.
